Bio:

Name: Andrea Patricia O'Neill
Age: 20
D.O.B.: May 30, 1989
Hometown: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Physical Description: Andie stands at 5’6’’. Her most stand-out feature is her long red hair. Even she claims it as her crowning glory. Her complexion is very, very fair, and her face is sprinkled with freckles across her nose and cheeks. She has a round face and very wide green eyes. She’s been told more than once that she has a bit of a baby face; very youthful. Andie’s sense of style is pretty laid back and traditional. She’s very much a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl.
Personality: If there’s one thing that has always been true for Andie, it’s that she likes to do things her own way. She has always been independent and a free thinker. Instead of following rules blindly, Andie always accepted advice or boundaries set forth by authority figures in an I’ll-take-it-under-advisement sort of manner. Though this didn’t always make her the easiest child to parent, she was always very mature and capable, which meant she was good at keeping herself out of trouble. Andie never pushed limits in order to rebel, but mainly to try and understand the reasoning behind them.

Andie is a very practical person. She sees a problem, she goes to tackle it, and gets it done. Whenever she undertakes something, you can rest assured it will be accomplished. She is straightforward and sometimes brutally honest, mostly because she thinks beating around the bush or telling white lies is a complete waste of time. She never runs away from her problems, and instead faces them head on with a cool head and a reasonable mind-set. She is still always an effective problem solver.

She is a very relaxed person, not often getting easily excited. Since she doesn’t wear her emotions on her sleeve, trying to read her can be somewhat difficult. She is a very pessimistic person, living under the glass-is-half-empty mentality, and because of this, she’s developed quite a cynical outlook on life. Her sense of humour is very sarcastic, almost scathingly so, and if you can rely on anyone to have a good verbal barb, it’s her. Her pessimism has also allowed for a fair amount of bitterness.

Though she may often tell those close to her to get used to the shitty way of the world, Andie often wishes she could find a way to make it better for the people she cares about. She’ll often try to put a smile on someone’s face if she can manage, and is always willing to lend an ear to those who need it. Andie is a wonderful listener, though when it comes to sharing her own experiences or feelings, she can be very closed off and aloof. Andie often operates with a clear head, but she doesn’t make much of a leader figure. She does what she can, but isn’t a fan of the responsibility that comes with being in charge. She would much rather carve her own path.
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Traveling With: Older brother Dylan O'Neill, and their friend Lucas.
Contest Entry: Involuntary.
Career/Job: Philosophy student at the University of Tennessee; part time sales associate at Best Buy.

History: Chattanooga, Tennessee wasn’t the most exciting place to be raised. Andrea Patricia O’Neill was born May 30, 1989 to proud parents Jesse and Clara O’Neill. As their second child and their only daughter, both parents were happy and ready to spoil the little girl in their life. But just as unexciting as Chattanooga was, her parents’ life lacked any real interest or lustre. Jesse was an accountant and Clara was a homemaker. They lived in the suburbs next to other accountants and house wives who didn’t eat carbs and lived their lost dreams through their children. It was a cookie cutter neighbourhood with neighbours straight out of Pleasantville.

Life wasn’t exciting. In fact for young Andie, it was downright dull. While her brother Dylan started out by playing to the social codes and by enjoying how everything in life was set down at their feet, Andie could never really find happiness. As they grew up, Dylan obviously became a little more troublesome and adventurous. He was well-liked by most kids their age because he was extroverted and socially active. Adults liked him for most of the same reasons, though if anyone was asked, they would always claim that Andie was the one that was better behaved. Andie was quiet, introverted and very laid back. She was the polar opposite and the foil to her brother. Despite being completely different, the two of them actually got along very well.

While she had a good friend in her brother, Andie found it hard to make really good friends with kids her age. She was always a little mature for her age, and so she frequently made friends with kids older than her. At the age of fourteen she was already working at a part time job and her level of maturity left her at odds with her parents. Her parents who, despite their best intentions, still thought they needed to control most aspects of Andie’s life. It was always because they wanted the best for her, but Andie’s attitude had been clearly formed: she trusted her own judgment, she was clever enough, and she could make her own decisions. Since Andie became very independent, her parents put the focus of their attention and efforts on Dylan. Their golden boy.

At the age of fifteen, a new family moved into her neighbourhood. She realized just how boring life was when this was the most exciting thing to happen in an entire summer. The family was from New York, they were very wealthy, and they had only one son: Lucas. Lucas and Dylan became very good friends almost instantly. In fact, combined, they became something of a neighbourhood dream team. All of the boys looked up to them and all of the girls were dying to be asked out on dates by one of them. Despite all of her best efforts, even Andie found herself infatuated with the worldly and mysterious outsider. However, unlike most girls, Andie was lucky enough to actually become Lucas’ friend instead of a week-long girlfriend. Many girls were jealous of Andie’s friendship with him, and frequently tried to use her to get closer to the boy, but none of them realized the simple fact: just being his friend was a living hell.

At sixteen, her parents shocked their children—and all their friends—by announcing their divorce. Nobody had seen it coming. Even Andie and Dylan had been hidden from most of the chaos of the marriage. They had only seen the tiniest hints that it was crumbling. Dylan showed his disdain very obviously—by acting out—while Andie kept quiet about how much it hurt her to see her parents going through what they were going through. While it made their mother much happier, it drove their father further into his work, causing him to spend much less time with his children.

When she started her senior year of high school, her brother Dylan and Lucas had headed off to university. She spent the first few months very lonely. Her mother was off getting a life, her father was married to his work, and her two closest friends were gone. Just before the winter break arrived, Lucas returned home after dropping out of university. Without Dylan there to be the third of their trio, there was nothing for them to do but be alone. For months Andie held him at arms length. Inevitably she succumbed to her feelings and lost her virginity to Lucas shortly after her eighteenth birthday. When Dylan arrived home for summer vacation, Lucas went back to treating her as he always had and started dating another girl. Heartbroken by this cold act, Andie happily moved to Knoxville the following autumn to start attending university.

University and a new city was a welcome change. Andie was really able to just relax and enjoy herself and find a niche she fit into very well. Studying philosophy wasn’t what her parents had hoped for her, but she enjoyed it, and they were happy she was studying something, so they didn’t butt into her scholastic affairs too much. She was also able to spend more time with Dylan since he was living in the same city. Now the person left to face the loneliness of losing his two closest friends to their futures was Lucas; the one who’d once seemed to have the brightest future possible. In order to get the opportunity to spend time with them once again, Lucas entered a contest and won a trip for the three of them aboard the Nausicaa. Andie initially refused, but relented after the constant pleading by her brother.

Special Skills/Abilities: Andie has always been a really good cook. It was one of the few hobbies she picked up in her younger years, and so she’s spent a lot of time practicing. She also has an excellent sense of direction; never once has she had to pull over somewhere and declare herself as being lost.
Personal Weaknesses:
Cynicism – To Andie, the glass is definitely half empty. She is beyond convinced that the world is a terrible place and, no matter what, Murphy’s Law will take effect and screw you. She is very negative and is more or less convinced the universe is constantly out to screw us all. Her sullenness and negativity can wear just about anyone thin.

Haughtiness – It’s not necessarily that Andie thinks she’s better or smarter than others, but she is very quick to pass judgment. She makes snap judgments about things and especially about people and is often too stubborn to try and see things from another point of view. She finds superficiality very tiring and won’t even attempt to look passed the bad to see the good.

Passive-aggressiveness – Rather than come out and tell you she’s mad at you, Andie will just give you the silent treatment. She sucks at conflict and would rather wholly avoid it or face it in the most infuriatingly passive way imaginable.

Claustrophobia – Get Andie into a small, enclosed space and she’ll freak out. She can’t handle it and will have a full scale panic attack.
Personal Strengths:
Independence – Andie can stand on her own two feet without any assistance. She doesn’t have to rely on other people, she can manage time alone, and she doesn’t need anyone to help her make decisions. Nobody has ever had to lead her by the hand.

Room: H Deck - 9211 - The Parthenon

Modeled after the sacred temple of the goddess Athena, this grand room immediately transports you to another time. The floors are marble, and the walls painted in a way so that they look as if they too were marble. Faux-stone columns are everywhere, and all of the walls are adorned with recreations of the Parthenon Frieze. Plants can be found through-out the room - mostly potted palms. The main room has a mini kitchenette, white upholstered sofa and two matching arm chairs. There is a flat-screen TV on the wall. The curtains covering the balcony doors are a sheer white cotton.

The decorating scheme is identical in both the bathroom and bedroom, and the recreations of the Frieze are found all-through-out. The bedroom has a computer desk and queen-sized bed with white Egyptian cotton linens.
